For a worry-free vacation, check insurances included in car hire quotes

Travelers or tourists in Larnaca, or in any other tourist destination, naturally expect a relaxing and worry-free vacation in a beautiful vacation place because, afterall, they go on vacation to relax and unwind. But accidents may happen anytime, anywhere to anyone, unexpectedly (that's why they are called accidents). It is therefore advised, especially for tourists getting the services of a car hire to be careful with their driving and be acquainted with the traffic rules in Larnaca or wherever they are visiting. Moreover, tourists will be benefited if the car hire quote they get includes insurances that will be of great use when unexpected unfortunate events happen, such as accidents, theft, among others.

For this reason, I have 'magnified' the 'fine print' of TigerCarRent.com for prospective clients to study.

Also, 40 km from Larnaca, and most easily visited by car, is the Stavrouvouni Monastery, one of Cyprus' most magnificent sights.

Cheap Larnaca Car Hire

Car hire in Cyprus is by far the easiest way of getting around, especially as the local public transport is erratic and does not reach all areas of interest. As in the UK, Cypriots drive on the left side of the road, although it has to be said that the driving standards of the country are not the best!

With a car rental you are able to experience all that Cyprus has to offer. Cyprus car hire enables you to see the varied archaeological sites, from Stone Age to Roman, which are spread across this island country, as well as allowing you to explore the largely unspoilt and beautiful coastline. With a car rental you are able to experience all that Cyprus has to offer, from the divided capital Nicosia, with its preserved Venetian walls, to the Troodos Mountains, three thousand metres high in places and peppered with lovely trails and quaint villages. You can even ski here during the winter. Car rental also gives you access to traditional Cypriot markets, where you can buy intricate lace and sample local wines.

The easiest way to find cheap car hire in Cyprus is by using our price comparison tool, and then booking your car hire in advance. An airport pickup is also recommended as it allows you to benefit from the freedom and convenience of your car rental from the start of your holiday.

Aqueduct in Larnaca, Cyprus

Before you decide on getting car hire in Larnaca below is a travel guide from Larnaca Travel Guide to some of the best places to visit in Larnaca.

Larnaca is the international gateway to Cyprus, being its second port and having an international airport. It is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, and has plenty of historical sightseeing on offer to complement its deep-blue sea, bright sandy beaches and reliably sunny skies. With its 400-berth marina, Larnaca is also a favoured destination for visitors with yachts. Land-based tourists enjoy the palm-lined harbour promenade and the city's international calibre shops, inviting cafes and panoramic ocean views. The city was called Kition in the days of the Old Testament and the ruins of the ancient city can still be seen. Much of its rich archaeological heritage has been preserved and is showcased in two of its main museums. The surrounding area beyond the city is also a treasure-trove of historic ruins from the Neolithic period onwards.

Attractions

Ancient Kition
In the northwest of Larnaca are some of the ruins of ancient Kition, featuring the remains of five temples dating back to the 13th century BC. Of particular interest is the Phoenician Temple of Astarte

Church of Ayios Lazaros
The 9th-century church devoted to St Lazarus that stands in Larnaca is an important religious institution on Cyprus. Lazarus is believed to have lived at ancient Kition for 30 years after his resurrection by Jesus Christ, and was ordained Bishop of Kition by Saints Barnabas.

District Museum
Within walking distance of the town centre is the modern District Museum, which contains an interesting collection of antiquities found in the Larnaca area, dating from the Neolithic to the Roman periods. Well-lit displays feature archaeological finds from Kition.

Larnaca Medieval Museum
This fascinating and well-stocked museum is housed in the Larnaca fort on the city’s seafront. The fort was built in 1625 and was used as a prison during the early years of British rule. The fort also operates as the Larnaca Municipal Cultural Centre... see full details
